A 2018 law in Massachusetts requires all publicly funded schools to be OSHA compliant. This one-day seminar covers the fundamentals of lab safety while addressing the most critical safety issues in our school science laboratories and classrooms in relation to the new regulation. Legal safety standards and professional prudent practices will be a basis for much of the discussion. The twelve parts of the standard are outlined and discussed. Special attention will be given to defining a Chemical Hygiene Officer and the eight elements required in your Chemical Hygiene Plan.
